Follow the money on Nimiq

Put in any Nimiq address and NimMap walks its transaction history outward, hop by hop: every hexagon is an address, every arrow is a transaction, pointing the way the money went. Arrow width is the amount, and colour is what kind of transaction it was: a stake, a reward, a message with data attached, a plain transfer. Nothing is sampled: the map is composed on request from live chain data, and it is free to three hops.

Reading it

Addresses are hexagons, on the Nimiq grid: the seed pinned at the centre in cyan, everything around it reached by following a transaction. Hex size is the money that passed through an address, on a log scale, so a wallet and a whale both stay on screen. A dashed outline marks the edge of the scan: an address that was found but never opened. Arrows are coloured by transaction family: cyan for staking, gold for a payout from the staking contract, violet and dashed for a message or data payload, pink for an HTLC, teal for vesting, zinc for a plain transfer. The legend's Type / Age chips switch that for the cyan-to-grey age ramp.

Controls

Drag to pan, scroll or pinch to zoom, drag a hex to pull it out of the pile. Click a hex or an arrow for its details, double-click a hex to re-scan from there, Esc to deselect. Depth 1 is the seed and whoever it traded with; each step adds another hop, and picking a depth re-runs the map on screen; 4 to 6 needs a pass. The legend sits top right and folds away; on a phone it starts folded.

Source & limits

Transaction history comes from nimiq-api.subimpact.net, cached a minute. A free scan reads 20 transactions per address, stops at 3 hops and 100 addresses. A pass, $29.99 in NIM for 30 days paid on chain, no account, takes takes that to 6 hops and turns on PNG and CSV export; depths 4, 5 and 6 multiply how much history each address contributes (x3, x4, x5) so deeper maps draw denser graphs.
